Creating Tamil mail message

You can continue to read this page, irrespective of whether you have read and understood the contents of the help file, provided you understood the steps indicated in the last page. Before sending an email message in Tamil you should first create the contents of the mail in Tamil. Email can be sent using several ways, using Azhagi. We will see each one of those procedures herebelow.

Creating Tamil message in Unicode

6) Click the menu "Tools" and select the option "Azhagi's Unicode Editor". (It is presumed that you have enabled Unicode in your system already. If not, read NOTE under step [8] below.)

7) Directly type the English equivalent alphabets for the Tamil alphabets of the message in the unicode editor. Note that the unicode font "Latha" has been automatically chosen in unicode mode.

8) Select the Tamil contents you created by shading with the mouse or by the keyboard shortcut "Ctrl A". Click the menu "Edit" and select the option "Copy" and the content will be copied to the clip board. You can paste these contents in the message page of your email client such as Outlook express or a web-based email client such as Yahoo! Mail, Gmail etc. You may also click on 'File->Send Mail...' menu item to send your email automatically via an internal email client like Outlook Express.

Important Note:
The users of the priced version can directly type out the Tamil contents in email clients such as Outllook Express, Gmail etc. about which we will see later. The settings for enabling Unicode in your system are explained at the following links:

9) You can use Azhagi Dual-Screen to create Non-Unicode Tamil contents. The Non-Unicode contents will be created in Tscii encoding.

10) If you are a beginner, you can move the Azhagi keymappings table shown at the lower portion to any other convenient location, so that you can refer the table and type. If not, you can close it. (If needed, one can have the keymappings table floating at the top of any application [say MS-Word], so that one can refer to this table and type from within any application)
